An Unusually Strong Start to Summer

May pointed towards a market recovery after April's slowdown. June strengthens that picture.
Activity usually slows as summer approaches, but this year the Nordic consulting market moved in the opposite direction.

📊 Assignments & competition
The number of published assignments increased by 10.7% compared to May and is now 31.8% higher than in June last year (excluding healthcare). After the recovery that began in May, June delivered an unusually strong start to the summer season.
The number of available consultants fell by 7.2% compared to May and 14.1% compared to June 2025. At the same time, the Unassignment Index declined from 6.3% to 6.0%, indicating a gradually improving balance between supply and demand.
The number of active advertisers remained unchanged compared to May and is 5.4% higher than a year ago.
Registrations in Brainville also reached a new all-time high for the month of June, with particularly strong growth in Denmark, Norway and especially Finland.

🌍 Geography
The Nordic metropolitan regions continued to strengthen their position during June, increasing their share of the market by 1.4%.

🏠 Remote & hybrid work
Remote and hybrid assignments continued to grow.
The share of assignments offering remote or hybrid work increased from 39.2% to 40.7% during June, driven mainly by continued growth in hybrid assignments.

👩‍💻 Roles
Growing:
Project Manager (+3.5%)
DataX (+2.5%)
Business Analyst (+1.0%)

Declining:
Developer (−4%)
Engineer (−1%)
Tester (−1%) – the decline is visible across most testing-related roles.
