Slightly Fewer Assignments, More Consultants in Circulation
Assignments in May decreased by −0.4 % compared to May last year and −3.2 % compared to April this year. Given that April included quite a few public holidays, one could have expected a positive figure for May.
💡 At the same time, the number of assigned consultants remained essentially unchanged from April – but is up by 23 % compared to May 2024.
Roles increasing in share (relative to the total):
⬆️ Developers (+1 %) – bouncing back after a previous dip
⬆️ Testers (+1.5 %) – a complete reversal from last month
⬆️ Project Managers (+1 %)
Roles decreasing:
⬇️ Solution Architects (−1 %)
⬇️ Procurement Specialists (−1 %)
⬇️ Engineers (−1 %)
📍Geography: Minor changes – but metro areas increased by 2.5 % compared to April.
🏠 Remote Assignments:
+5 % compared to May 2024
+3 % compared to April 2025
And the increase is entirely driven by fully remote roles – hybrid remains flat.
🧠 In Brainville:
We saw a clear rise in registrations during May. Overall activity is up too – more logins, more invitations, more applications, which is expected given the current state of the market.
