December Update: What’s Shaping the Nordic Freelance and Consulting Market?

As the year came to a close, the freelance and consulting market followed its usual seasonal dip. But this December came with a twist: assignment volumes were 17% lower compared to the same month last year.

📊 Shifting Demand for Roles:
🔼On the rise: Project Managers, Solution Architects, and Developers.
🔽Facing challenges: Engineers and SAP consultants.

🏙️ Urban Centers Hold Strong:
The trend towards major cities continues, with Stockholm and Hovedstaden leading the charge in assignment growth. However Oslo saw a slight dip.

💼 Workplace Dynamics Are Evolving:
Remote assignments (fully or partly) remain just under 20% of the total market. However, there’s a clear winner here: hybrid roles are gaining momentum, while fully remote opportunities are decreasing at the same pace.
