Product Manager- technical platform

Job description:

 

This is a backfill for a product manager for a technical platform going on parental leave. A typical product manager available in the market would not be a good fit as the work is fairly technical. An architect or a tech lead (expert) level engineer with some product roadmap/management experience would do.

 

Tasks:

Define, align, and deliver on roadmap of data platform components for data ingestion patterns, data consumption patterns, and data transformation patterns.

- Meet with in-house other platform, data, BI, and AI teams to understand their criteria and pain points

- Align with those teams and platform product teams on the requirements for platform product features

- Convert requirements into product feature epics and user stories and bring them to the backlog of platform product teams

- Present delivered features to adopters and other stakeholders

- Negotiate adoption time and enablement for the product feature adopters

Technical Skills

- Hands-on experience with both Azure and GCP infrastructure (at least 5 years)

- Hands-on experience with real-time and/or batch data pipelines (at least 5 years)

- Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade data, AI, or BI solutions (at least 5 years)

- Requirement setting for technical products/solutions 

- Experience in agile ways of working

- Being able to make firm, pragmatic decisions that are based

- Experience in contributing to structured delivery without ruining agility

- Experience in working with senior engineers, architects, and data persona

- Can communicate technical things to both technical and non-technical people with different level of details
