Assignment
Design engineer for designing plastic components within the battery pack. The assignment requires good knowledge in Catia V5 and experience in designing plastic components. We work in close collaboration with other Traton brands so good ability to communicate in in English is a must. Essential to have knowledge about systems like Enovia, OAS, TestIT and 3D Experience.

Skills:
  • CAD Proficiency: Mastery of computer-aided design (CAD) software like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA is essential for creating detailed and accurate designs of plastic components.
  • Material Knowledge: Understanding the properties and behaviors of different plastics is crucial for selecting the right material for each component based on factors such as strength, durability, thermal conductivity, and cost.
  • Mechanical Engineering Principles: A solid foundation in mechanical engineering principles is necessary for designing components that meet structural integrity requirements and can withstand various loads and stresses within the battery pack.
  • Battery Pack Design Understanding: Familiarity with the design requirements and constraints of battery packs, including thermal management, space constraints, weight considerations, and safety standards, is essential for integrating plastic components effectively.
  • Manufacturability Knowledge: Being knowledgeable about injection molding processes, tooling design, and manufacturing constraints helps in designing components that are cost-effective to produce at scale and meet quality standards.
  • Problem-solving Skills: Design engineers must be adept at identifying and solving complex design challenges, such as optimizing component geometry for strength and weight, minimizing material usage, and addressing assembly issues.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision and attention to detail are critical to ensuring that designs are accurate and meet the required specifications and tolerances.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication with cross-functional teams, including other engineers, designers, manufacturers, and stakeholders, is essential for conveying design requirements, collaborating on solutions, and addressing feedback.
  • Creativity and Innovation: The ability to think creatively and innovatively is important for developing novel solutions to design problems and improving the performance, efficiency, and manufacturability of plastic components.

Where will the assignment be performed (Onsite, Hybrid, offsite)
The assignment will Hybrid, we ask for 3 days a week on site at the office in Södertälje.

Education
B.Sc or Msc in relevantarea.

Language
