Our partner company is presently engaged in a project dedicated to the implementation of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). The EUDR Regulation, officially enacted and enforced in June 2023, is designed to combat deforestation and forest degradation linked to specific products entering or departing from the EU market. These products primarily include agricultural crops, as well as wood products and solid biofuels. The primary provisions of this regulation are set to take effect in December 2024.
The scope of the EUDR impact at this company extends across various facets and processes, spanning from wood supply to the final product. This impact influences key areas such as Wood Supply, Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, and Sales (B2B). In light of this, we are seeking an adept architect with industry expertise to contribute to the detailed solution for the EUDR project. This involves delineating the existing architecture and the envisioned solution company-wide.
The ramifications of the EUDR on processes and IT solutions will manifest at both regional (Europe) and local (mill) levels. The consultant’s role will encompass evaluating potential standard solutions, aligning them with the organizations target architecture requirements, and defining a tactical solution and roadmap toward the target. Collaboration is crucial, necessitating close interaction with business personnel and experts in Wood Supply, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Operations, as well as IT professionals within the campany and external application vendors.
We are specifically seeking a consultant with a proven track record in the solution architect role within the manufacturing industry, with a preference for experience in Paper and Pulp. Additional beneficial experience includes involvement in Regulatory Projects and Sustainability Projects. The project’s work and documentation will be conducted in English.
