Assignment Description
Our client in the automotive industry is seeking a Test Leader for the Computing Infrastructure System (CIS) department. This role is pivotal in our client’s mission to enhance their in-house software development capabilities, specifically within the CIS. The department is integral to developing high-performance in-vehicle computers—referred to as the “Core System.” These systems are designed to support a variety of vehicle applications, from basic vehicle state operations to advanced active safety and autonomous driving functionalities.
Role Overview:
As a Test Leader in CIS, you will drive the execution of our client’s testing strategies and coordinate test plans across the organization. You will ensure the Core System integrates seamlessly and meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance. This position offers a significant opportunity to impact the success and quality of new software releases to vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test Planning: Develop comprehensive test plans covering both software and hardware aspects of the Core System. Establish clear testing objectives, scope, and timelines aligned with project goals.
- Strategy Implementation: Lead teams to execute test strategies effectively.
- Test Execution: Oversee the implementation of test cases using manual and automated testing methods on Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) rigs and complete vehicles. Monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and implement timely solutions.
- Test Automation: Regularly provide feedback and suggest improvements to test automation processes to increase efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams to ensure tests are in sync with system designs and requirements.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of test plans and results.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical and Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in automotive testing, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of automotive engineering, software testing methodologies, and quality assurance principles.
- Proficiency in test planning, strategy development, and execution.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and tools.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and collaborate with multiple test teams.
- Demonstrated leadership in mentoring teams and driving quality improvements.
- Experience in software testing and test automation within a Continuous Integration (CI) context.
