Assignment Description
Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking a Digital CAE Engineer.
The Design, CAE & Advanced Visualization Product team is responsible for providing engineers at their organization with specialized applications, efficient infrastructure, and high-performance computing (HPC) capacity, adapted to optimize and secure virtual analysis, virtual verification, design, and visualization.
As a CAE Engineer within Design & Visualization, you are responsible for all applications used in this area. This includes, but is not limited to, access & license management, software installation & configuration, end-user support & troubleshooting, all in connection to their Linux HPC environment. Some support is expected for applications running on Windows as well.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Maintenance of Design applications and environments (mainly Linux)
- HPC operations, including support, maintenance, upgrades, etc.
- Participation in HPC capacity planning for the Design and Visualization area, connected to their future needs.
- Involvement in projects including software development, integration, implementation, and support.
- Some examples of tasks:
- Design and development of Python-based software for automation and data streams.
- Requirement specification for the purchase or development of niche software used by the Design department.
- Support, maintenance, and operation of applications used by the Design department.
- Configuration and installation of computer environments for these applications, locally (on-premises) or in cloud environments.
- You will have direct contact with end-users and vendors (software/hardware).
Required Qualifications:
- Master of Science (M.Sc.) or equivalent
- Experience with CAE systems in the automotive industry, governance, and support of visualization applications.
- Experience with applications used in visualizations, such as Maya, V-ray, Nuke.
- Experience with LSF or other batch queue systems is a bonus.
- Experience working in Linux and/or Windows environments
- Strong scripting skills
- Structured way of working and good documentation skills
- Self-driven and flexible
- Fluent in English
