Picture yourself as a pivotal person in this venture, leading the way in turning engineering designs concepts into reality often within a single day.

Your in-depth expertise in 5-axis programming for mill/turn machines, proficiency with HCL CAMWorks, and hands-on experience with DMG Mori machines like the NTX and DMU series, will be your main asset to succeed in this job. In addition, machine simulation and collision detection are going to be the tools you will leverage daily, ensuring the transition from concept to reality is both swift and smooth.

If you harbor a passion for technology, data, and spearheading the future advancements in the robotics industry, this is your golden opportunity to leave a big mark in history!

The client designs androids built to benefit society. Since 2014, they’ve been building androids with the product design mindset of safety first, balanced performance, and smart behavior. Their mission is to build androids that work alongside people to meet the world’s labor demand and build an abundant society. Their wheeled model, is engineered to work with you, from guarding to logistics, and their bipedal model, is designed to become a general-purpose android, with a broad deployment in various applications, and, eventually, assisted living.

Founded in Moss, Norway, the company has grown into an international team with offices around the globe. They envisions a bright new future: humans and androids, working and learning, Side by Side.

Why this job is exciting:
  • You will help build and operate the client’s first machine park – a world-class advanced prototyping and manufacturing asset.
  • Influence how their products are designed through making suggestions on modifications that allow for better manufacturability and higher volume production technologies
  • Fast paced environment: Ensure a quick turnaround for engineers – often within a day.
Roadmap:
Within first month, you will:
  • Get familiar with the portfolio and complexity of parts that build up the client’s products
  • Define the machining strategy for each part, start setting up CAM and machine simulation
  • Programming the client’s parts and machining them in the suitable machine (incl. Measuring that they are within spec)
Within three months, you will:
  • Be self-sufficient, and lead the programming/operation planning, execution and implementation of tasks relate to the implementation of the machine shop and CMM machine
  • Collaborate closely with R&D teams and drive the implementation of changes in design for better manufacturability
  • Own all processes (From CAD to the finished part on the table) related to the prototyping Machine Park in the company
Within one year, you will:
  • Be the go-to person related to the machining and low-volume production of parts
  • Manage a fully functioning machine park (incl. CNC machines, EDM equipment, a CMM machine)
  • Oversee the production of parts, ensuring quality and short lead times
Qualifications:
Must-Haves:
  • Skilled in HCL CAMWorks. 5-axis simultaneous programming.
  • Proven experience in CNC programming and operation, specifically with 5-axis programming for mill/turn machines.
  • Proficiency in working with CELOS with MAPPS, FANUC (F31iB5) and/or CELOS with HEIDENHAIN (TNC7) controller.
  • Skilled in machine simulation and capable of foreseeing potential collisions before machine operation.
  • Ability to measure parts as they get made, often to a high degree of precision, to ensure they are within spec
  • Adhering to safety regulations and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
Nice-To-Haves:
