Project description:
New CDO wants to build up Data Capabilities of a specialty corporate insurer and reinsurer (client). This includes a new Data Strategy, Engineering, Analytics, Reporting to enhance and drive the insurance business.
General position overview:
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer in London to work closely with our Exp Mgmnt analyst to do heavy SQL programming for a tactical Datamart they have built. We need someone who can be in the office 3 days a week and is comfortable working with the client directly and following our delivery standards / principles but priority is SQL Sever, SSIS, SQL, Database skills
Priority is SQL Sever, SSIS, SQL, Database skills.
Azure experience is a nice to have.
Candidate's responsibilities:
* Heavy SQL programming for a tactical Datamart they have bui
* Developing and maintaining ETL/ELT processes to collect, transform, and load data from various sources into data warehouses.
* Developing stored procedures for complex calculations.
* Optimising data pipelines and architectures to improve efficiency and scalability.
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and provide technical solutions.
* Troubleshooting and resolving data integration issues.
* Performing data validation and quality checks to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
* Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data engineering.
Requirements:
* Primary skill: Data Integration
Must have skills:
* MS SQL Server
* SSIS
* 3+/5+ Years Experience as a Data Engineer designing, developing, and managing end-to-end data pipelines, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), and ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) solutions.
* Must be able to design & build end-to-end data engineering solutions using Azure Synapse Analytics.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional Agile teams.
Nice to have skills:
* Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services, Python, SQL
* Understanding of Azure DevOps Pipelines would be advantageous
* Understanding Test Driven Design Principles and Unit Test Frameworks such as PyTest would be advantageous
