To our exciting customer we are looking for a skilled Synthesis Engineer to their hardware development team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong and documented experience in synthesis projects, preferably in more advanced nodes (smaller than 7nm). As a synthesis engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance and deliver the customers hardware IP products, and drive efficiency through automation.

Responsibilities
● Synthesis Planning and Execution:
○ Develop and implement synthesis strategies for complex hardware IP designs using Synopsys tools.
○ Collaborate with architects and design teams to understand project requirements.
○ Conduct synthesis runs to meet performance, power, and area (PPA) targets.
● Physical Synthesis:
○ Drive the physical synthesis process using Synopsys tools, including floorplanning and place and route activities.
○ Optimize design for timing closure, power efficiency, and manufacturability.
○ Work closely with the physical design team to ensure successful tape-outs.
● IP Integration:
○ Integrate synthesized IP blocks into larger system designs.
○ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve integration issues.
● Performance Analysis:
○ Conduct thorough performance analysis using Synopsys tools to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
○ Take a significant responsibility in coaching RTL block designers for performance and power-efficient design solutions.
○ Propose and implement enhancements to achieve optimal PPA results.
● Toolchain Management:
○ Stay updated on the latest Synopsys EDA tools and methodologies for synthesis and physical synthesis.
○ Evaluate and implement new Synopsys tools to improve design efficiency.

● Documentation:
○ Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for synthesis and physical synthesis processes.
○ Ensure clear and concise documentation of design methodologies and decisions.

Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
● 5 years of experience in chip development with a focus on synthesis and physical synthesis using Synopsys tools ● Proficient in industry-standard EDA tools (Synopsys, Cadence, Mentor Graphics).
● Strong understanding of RTL design and hardware description languages (Verilog, VHDL).
● Experience with scripting languages (Tcl, Perl, Python) for automation.
● Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
● Strong communication and collaboration skills.
● Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
● Experience with advanced process technologies (e.g., 7nm, 5nm).
