What is Brainville?
Brainville was founded in 2012 and is an independent marketplace where freelancers, consulting firms, consultant brokers and buyers meet. Brainville is never a party to the deal. Read more about us -
Is Brainville a freelance/consultant broker?
No, Brainville is only a marketplace where freelancers/consultants and those who need them can get in contact. Brainville never takes part of the deal between the two of you. -
Who uses Brainville?
Freelancers, consulting firms, consultant brokers and buyers of consulting services. Assignments are posted by buyers - both end clients and consultant brokers - and applied for by consultants and consulting firms. -
How does Brainville work?
Anyone can post consulting assignments free of charge. Consultants browse the assignments and apply to the ones that fit best. The client and the consultant then close the deal and sign the contract directly with each other, with no involvement from Brainville. -
Which countries is Brainville available in?
Brainville is used mainly in the Nordics and Poland, but companies from considerably more countries are connected.

Can I really use Brainville free of charge?
Yes, absolutely. Brainville has a, so called, Freemium-Premium model, much like LinkedIn. You can use most of our functionality totally free of charge. If you want to access even more you can buy a Premium membership. -

What is the difference between free and Premium?
With a free account you can, among other things, create and share consultant profiles, browse assignments and apply to them. Premium Sales gives you access to 100% of the assignments published on the open market, with no time delay. Compare the plans -
Do I need an account to search for assignments?
No, you can browse open assignments without logging in. To apply to an assignment you do need an account, however. Find assignments -
Can I use Brainville as a freelancer without my own company?
Yes. Brainville works with umbrella companies you can invoice through, so you can take assignments without starting a company of your own. About umbrella companies

Can I post assignments free of charge?
Yes. You can always use Brainville to post assignments and reach all companies who use us - free of charge. Your assignments will immediately be made available to our Premium Sales members and then to the rest of the marketplace. If you want your assignments to be made available to all our users at once there's an option for that too, for a slight fee. About posting assignments -
Who can post assignments on Brainville?
Assignments are posted by buyers of consulting services: consultant brokers, end clients and consulting firms. You can post assignments yourself once logged in, and there is also an open form where Brainville sets up an account for you and your company. Post an assignment -
Do the assignments come from end clients or brokers?
Both. Brainville collects assignments from consultant brokers, end clients and consulting firms, and you close the deal directly with the buyer no matter which kind of buyer it is. Find assignments -
How do I find assignments?
You browse the assignments on Find assignments, where new assignments are published continuously. With the Premium market monitoring add-on, assignments from hundreds of buyers are gathered in one place as well. Find assignments -
How do I apply to an assignment?
You apply directly on the assignment listing. That requires you to be logged in. -
How quickly does a published assignment become visible?
The assignment reaches Brainville's paying members immediately, and the whole market after 72 hours - free of charge. With Premium Buyer the delay drops to 48 hours, and with the Reach add-on it is removed entirely. About posting assignments -
I only work with selected suppliers. Can I use Brainville?
Yes, you can work with selected suppliers using Premium Buyer. This license enables you to post assignments to a limited group of suppliers. You can add rules, such as wich suppliers may apply to which roles and at what levels and rates (frame agreement rules basically).

How do I make myself searchable as a consultant?
You fill in your consultant profile and then share it with the network. Only then does it become searchable for other companies. Both the profile and the sharing are free. About consultant profiles -
Can I use my own CV file?
Yes, you can upload and apply with your own CV files, but that requires Premium Sales. The free alternative is the consultant profile, which serves the same purpose as a CV. See pricing -
Can a consulting firm manage several consultant profiles?
Yes. You gather the company's consultant profiles in one place, free of charge, and show the consultants who are available so that clients can find you. About consultant profiles -
Can I search for consultants without posting an assignment?
Yes. In the consultant search you can search among available consultants without posting an assignment and at no cost. Without an account only a selection of the hits is shown. Search consultants -
Can I contact a consultant directly?
Yes. You get in touch directly with the consultant or the consultant's sales contact - Brainville is never an intermediary. You need an account to reach the profile. Search consultants

What is Partner Network?

Can I manage frame agreements on Brainville?
Yes, with Premium Buyer. You can set up frame agreement rules that limit which companies see the listings and which rates they can apply with, controllable by role and level. See pricing -

Can we pull assignments into our own system?
Yes. Assignment export automatically delivers selected assignments to an endpoint you specify yourselves. Applications are still made in Brainville. About the API -

What is Market statistics?
Market statistics is Brainville's statistics section covering the Nordic freelance and consulting market, where you can drill down into exactly the part of the market that interests you. Go to the market statistics -
What data is available there?
The statistics are divided into market overview, geography, rates, skills, roles, categories, competence areas and reports. The source data is the assignments, applications and consultant profiles on Brainville. Go to the market statistics -
Can I see rates and demand for roles and skills?
Yes. The role and skill statistics show which roles and skills are in demand across the Nordics, and the rate statistics show hourly rates based on the buyer's rate in the assignment and the supplier's rate in the application. Go to the market statistics

Are there permanent jobs on Brainville?
The listings are consulting assignments, not recruitment, so you will not find job ads among the assignments. It does work the other way around, though: companies can seek you out. About recruitment -
Can I show that I am open to employment?
Yes. You choose to show your profile to employers yourself, and they can only contact you when you allow it. About recruitment -
Can companies search for candidates for permanent employment?
Yes. Alongside freelancers and consultants there are people here who are interested in a job offer. Log in, search the candidates and get in touch directly. About recruitment

Who can see my profile?
A consultant profile you have shared can be found by other companies in the network when they search for consultants. If you share it anonymously, neither name nor photo is shown. About consultant profiles -
Can I hide my profile?
Yes. If you remove the sharing, the profile is no longer searchable on Brainville. You can also choose to be shared anonymously. -
How does Brainville handle personal data?
The terms of use have a dedicated section on personal data - among other things you have the right to access your data and to have incorrect data corrected. There is also a separate privacy policy. Read the terms of use -
Can I delete my account?
Yes, when logged in. If you are the last employee with an active account, the company is deleted as well, and that cannot be undone. If the company has more employees, a colleague with permission to manage employees needs to do it for you.
