Job description:
Data Engineer within Exploratory Analytics
The service area Business Intelligence provides our internal customers with different business intelligence capabilities, such as reporting and analytics. Today our company has limited capabilities for exploratory analytics and the maintenance area will set the foundation for a new way of analytics, to make the data more available for central analytical groups. Furthermore, we need to provide a modern toolbox to help our business analyse, enrich and consume the information.
As a Data Engineer within Exploratory Analytics (ExA) you will work together with our existing Data Warehouse solution and have close collaboration with a wide range of internal customers. Your task, together with the team, is to continue building the Exploratory Analytics platform and enable business to make smarter and faster insights. ExA is a small agile team with a knowledge sharing way of working. In this assignment you can get a lot of opportunities to learn and develop within the area.

We are using the latest development tools within Azure (Data Factory V2, Azure DataWarehouse, DataBricks, Azure Data Lake). It is therefore essential that you are interested in learning new things. Furthermore, since we are pushing the boundaries, we are also setting the standard of working with new tools.

The Role
Development of new components and integrations
Maintenance of existing components
Define new ways of working with the latest tools
Focus on the Exploratory Analytics business user community and act as a link between IT and business
Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes
Develop, Unit- and Integration tests
Collaborate with different development teams and source systems to make data available to our customers in the best way, always using best practices
Assist in solving Azure related technical matters in co-operation with BI Operations and other stake-holders
Documentation

Tools and software you will work with:
Azure Data Warehouse, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio and other Microsoft tools.

Competence
SQL and foundational knowledge of database infrastructure
Good analysis ability and skills
Pedagogical -you possess the ability to explain complex solutions
You appreciate to work in a constantly changing business and a dynamic environment
You are driven and have a great sense of responsibility
You are structured and analytic
You have the ability to communicate and build relations with different types of people and roles within both the business and IT

It’s a plus if you have:
Experience and knowledge of Agile methods
Experience and knowledge of Azure Data Warehouse
Procedural programming
Experience of Python
Experience of Power BI
Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes

This is a full-time assignment, based in our Activity-based office in Marievik, Stockholm.


Additional:
For this assignment, we are at first hand looking for consultants permanently based in Stockholm.
We are primarily looking for freelancers or employeed consultants, subcontractors/subconsultants are not of interest.
The Client has two non billable days- the first two days with the first assignment
